Why MODUS+?
At Modus+, movement is more than a workout — it’s an experience designed to strengthen your body, clear your mind, and connect you to a supportive community.
Our studio offers a thoughtfully curated mix of barre, Pilates, strength, dance, yoga, cardio, and recovery-based classes so you can move in ways that challenge, energize, and support your body through every season of life. Each class is led by passionate instructors who prioritize intentional programming, expert coaching, and a welcoming environment where every client feels seen and supported.
โ
Whether you're building strength, improving mobility, finding balance, or simply looking for a place to move and feel good, Modus+ is designed to help you show up for yourself and leave stronger than when you arrived.
More than a fitness studio, Modus+ is a community where movement brings people together.

Move with purpose. Grow stronger together.

because we tucking love it
After I had my second baby at 41, I thought it was all over. I assumed I'd never feel the same in my skin, not to mention my clothes. I thought I would just be exhausted forever. When my maternity leave was over, I found a barre studio on my route to work. After two months, I could feel the difference. After three months, people started noticing. After a year, I was in the best shape of my life.
โ
When we moved to Michigan, I was certain I'd have to leave the empowerment I'd gained in my practice behind. Then I stumbled upon Modus45 and found not only the full-body workout that I love, but also a group of (mostly) women who share the cult-like dedication I have, led by instructors who help us master the nuances that bring transformative change.

The Modus Method: A Traverse City Institution
Modus is a name people around here already know. It started with Megan Madion, an avid endurance athlete who suffered a severe, pelvis-shattering bicycle accident in 2007. While recovering, she developed a method built on deep isometric movement — starting from the floor to rebuild core stability from the ground up. She called it Modus, from the Greek for "the method," and started teaching.
โ
In 2022, Megan passed the torch to longtime instructor Lindsey Hale, who grew the studio's offerings and its community. Under Lindsey, Modus helped me find my footing in Traverse City — after a cross-country move, a pandemic, and a career change. She also helped me find my abs. For that, I will be forever grateful.

Carrying the Torch
The Tuck team is honored to carry this tradition forward, and we're doing everything we can to do it justice. We're thrilled that Lindsey Hale is joining us — training every Tuck instructor and teaching classes herself.
โ
Whatever you're chasing in your barre practice — a total transformation, slowing down the hands of time, staying lean, building strength, or just carving out an hour that's all yours — you'll find it at Tuck.
